A Great Afternoon

I had a very lovely afternoon. I met with authors Davis Bunn and Mark Mynheir at the Sun Shoppe Cafe in downtown Melbourne.

I've known and admired Davis' work for years. So it was a big thrill to hang out with him. Davis is such an encouragement and classy man. Mark, a Palm Bay police officer, is a rising author who writes police thrillers. It was fun to get to know him.

God is good.

Then I met Tony for a movie. It's our 14th Wedding Anniversary. We went to see "Failure to Launch." Funny, well done movie! I recommended it, but be warned, Terry Bradshaw show's his backside for a good 30 seconds.

Some things should remain covered up.

To my husband and best friend, I love you. Thank you so much for encouraging me to be all God's called me to be, for making our home safe and peaceful. And fun. ;) You are the best.

  1. LOL, I saw it, too! (The movie and the body part in question!) My assessment, exactly. And they could have left out the bad example of the girl in his bed. But it was very cute and entertaining. Loved her cynical roommie!

Happy anniversary!! Amy and I had our 15th a couple months ago. Isn't it wonderful when you can look back on the years and see that your love has GROWN rather than recede! God is definitely good.

  3. Happy Anniversary, Rachel!! All my love to you and Tony! I guess I'm a prude. :( I went to see Failure to Launch last night and even tho' I laughed some, I couldn't get past the bad language and constant sexual stuff. Maybe I should stick with PG. I didn't expect PG-13 to have so much of that. I did think the premise was cute, and Matthew McConaughey and Sarah Jessica Parker did a great job. Terry's rear was the least offensive part of the whole movie to me. LOL!!

  4. Oh, I've also enjoyed Davis Bunn's work for years and years, no matter which genre. (although I have to say I haven't read any of his historicals)

Thanks for recommending the movie. I'd wanted to see it, wasn't sure if it was worth the $$. :)

    Happy writing!!
    and Happy Anniversary! ~~Lynette
